Wizards pull away from Spurs in 2nd half behind Merritt's 15
The now 2-0 wizards defeated the Spurs on Sunday 28-21. The wiz were led by Guard Tom Merritt, scoring a career high 15 points and tacked on 5 boards. Tom Merritt also had a career high 8 turnovers. He scored the first 8 points for the wizards. Guard Luke Denbo had a decent 7 points, to go with 3 assists. The wiz were extremely short handed. Forward Gabe Kirk was questionable before the game with an illness, played, but got hurt again in the mid first half. Forward Jessie Wray and Guard Patrick Henry each made layups in the fourth. Nick Bowers and Henry McCullers(2&3PPG) were inactive due to traveling during the extra long MLK weekend. Next week the wiz will square off against Alex Leicter and the Dragons(Team4). Tom Merritt leads the wiz in PPG with 10 and a half. Luke Denbo is second with 7.5.

BS falls short to Little Flower
Due to absence of leading scorer andreas, BS falls by 15 to the Cardinals. G Luke Denbo scored 11 out of BS' sixteen, hitting 3 threes. Center #42 also recorded a season high 3 points.
Mo Co D3 Wizards pull away first game vs. team 6
Wizards beat shorthanded Team 6, 29-15. The Wizards were led by guards Luke Denbo and Tom Merritt, who combined for 14 Points, 7 assists, and 10 Rebounds. Forward Henry McCullers tacked on his first bucket of the year with a long three that went in. The jumper was the momentum swinger for the 1-0 wizards. Guard Patrick Henry played a game-high 24 minutes, recording a point and 4 assists. The Wizards pulled away in the 3rd quarter, using the full-court press to their advantage. Denbo had 4 steals in the 3rd quarter which turned into 3 easy layups. Center Gabriel Kirk tied his career high with 4 points. In the 4th quarter, Rookie Daniel Navratil and Conrad Sunter each got fouled taking layups and each made 1 out of 2 free throws. When asked about playing time, Head Coach Mark Denbo says, "Whoever gives the most effort in practice plays the most minutes." Rookie Nick Bowers led all 3 rookies with 2 points. Next up for the Wizards is team 1, Led by all star point guard Justin Smith, who is currently the league in steals, at 10 per game. Wish the wiz good luck!
